If you are a republican you are a de facto racist.

In the ‘post racial’ world of the most devout haters out there, they seemingly believe that by declaring they are not racist, somehow their actual racism becomes invisible to the rest of us, (and the whole you are racist for calling me racist canard that makes them feel better about their spite and utter nasty).

We have all seen the confederate flags, the swastikas and the signs at protests over the last few years, hell last week it was a really classy touch in Illinois when a bunch of wankers waved the nazi flags and wore nazi nasty in the face of a Jewish governor. The rot set in years ago, when the leaders of the republican party courted the vote of the far right rather than telling them to bugger off, that their views and behaviours were not welcome. And this is why we know that if you are a republican in 2020 you are a racist. If you vote republican you are saying that you are content to align yourself with nazi’s, white supremacists and ethno nationalists. If you are part of the party in any official sense, you are a racist, because you have done nothing to speak out and condemn the far right in any of the things they have done. At best you have stood by and let the racists takeover and been complicit with inaction because of power and profit. Still racist.

On the bright side though, there is a history of good men doing the right thing when it comes to the far right getting too handy with their hate. The confederacy got their arses kicked, Hitler and his fascist racist buddies came to a sticky end. As Oscar Wilde said, "All empires fall, there are no exceptions.'' This racist Trump Empire will come crashing down. And the racists know it.

on and gives a pass to active Democrats and people who don't consider themselves political alike when it comes to racism. People who have grown up in America have grown up in a white supremacy, and it's difficult to dismantle racist systems when "not waving a nazi flag and not voting Republican" is the bar to clear.
