Question about Yahoo News Forums (I don't know where else to ask this)

I'm a regular poster in the Yahoo Forums. Whenever I post something I get at least a dozen thumbs down. (They're usually anti-Trump comments). Occasionally an actual person responds, but not usually. I suspect they're either bots or someone using multiple login names. I've posted the word "eggs" to see what happens, and sure enough, it got a bunch of thumbs down. I even get them for positive comments like my condolences when someone dies.

Anyone know what gives?

Like/Don't Like
Approve/Disapprove
Love/Hate

That's just how it is. DU used to have an UnRec button. It disappeared because so many people were using it to UnRec people they didn't like regardless of what they posted.

Human nature.

Is that it is very appropriately named.

Over the years, it has been a hot bed for the most vile comments on the mainstream web.

It is probably bots but I would not put it past the actual humans that inhabit that site to simply be obnoxious as a hobby.

Some have 20,000+ posts. I just call them Putinbots and curse them in Russian. (Отъеби́сь!)

Back in 2016, I was having same problem, but I thought maybe I had a group following of haters that might learn something. 2 weeks before the election they hacked my account and changed every comment I ever made! My significant other and I read through 100s and came to the conclusion they were written by easten European or Russians because of the language and sentence structure. I told a couple people about it, and they thought I was nuts or lying.

I was very concerned because I did not want my screen name to be affiliated with what they were writing so I sent yahoo an email, and talked to someone from yahoo, and I wanted my history erased, and changed my passwords. They fixed it. Yahoo was hacked, and maybe it was so (they, who ever it was) could commandeer those accounts for propaganda.

So I would call yahoo and tell them what is going on. When they thumbs down your comment so many times, it hides what you've said from the public, unless the person scrolling manually opens it.

I will send Yahoo an email. So far they haven't altered any of my comments. And I almost never get an actual person commenting on anything I've posted. Just the annoying dozen or so thumbs down.

In fact I like getting thumbs down. It just shows that I have pulled someone's chain.

If I'm actually irritating a tRump follower, it makes me happy.
