2. Did the poll weight for education? If not add four to Trump to get correct results

Hillary polled five points better in state polls than she got on Election Day, in Wisconsin, Michigan, PA. Apparently this was because less educated voters avoided pollsters. The new Nate, Nate Cohn who replaced Nate Silver at the NYT, found polls which preweighted to assure an accurate sample for educational status give Trump an extra four points.

It's not just registering our voters to vote, it's getting them to the polls to cast their votes. I've been registering voters and advocating voting since the '00 election year and I find that many of our non-voters don't fully understand the process. For example, I've had people tell me that they've moved since they registered and don't know where to vote. They think they have to re-register, instead of simply updating their information and learning their new polling location.

Early voting solves many of these problems but there are those who don't understand that process all that well either so instead of being afraid of appearing foolish, they just don't vote. Register new voters, but just important, inform those who've already registered about how and where to cast their ballot.

there was a HUGE increase in the number of registered voters between 2012 and 2016 - nearly 150 million to over 200 million.

However, the overall turnout only went up slightly.

8. Schools should teach about the process of voting

Schools should have elections with realistic procedures and equipment. Primaries followed by the general election first Tuesday in November. Oops, first Tuesday after the first Monday. I didn’t learn that in school so I got it wrong here.

Thank you for your work!
