Republicans have become a nightmare from hell

It seems that the political reality in which we Democrats once believed is gone. We knew that that the Republican Party was on the wrong side of history. We knew that they were driven by greed, self interest, and desire for power. We knew that they were people devoted to their own self-interest. We knew that if they held power, our country was screwed. We knew that they never gave a damn about the vast majority of Americans.

But what we didn't know, (and should have suspected), was that there was zero limit to their depravity. We didn't know how little they cared about life and death. We really couldn't conceive the depths of evil to which they have sunk. We really didn't think that they'd give a damn about how many thousands of people died, just so long as they could hold onto power.

A malignant creature may be their "leader," of the moment, but most of them really don't care about that. They care about themselves, their own prosperity, their own wealth and power, their own supremacy, their own survival at the top of the heap and their rule over the peasantry.

They are, at this very moment, showing us that they possess the same mentality as those who built the German death machine. There's a good chance that, were "beloved leader" to be reelected, the equivalent of death camps could become a very real possibility. And were this insanity to come into being again, does anyone believe the Republican Party wouldn't go along with it? Whatever it was we imagined Republicans to be, we didn't go far enough. Yeah, we thought they were evil. But until now, I don't think we really knew just how evil, evil could be.

Many have said that the upcoming election is the most important ever held in the history of America. I agree. No need to rehash the countless Republican ways in which they steal elections. But this time around may be the last. Either we stop them this time, or the country we called America is over.

The following may seem a bit far out, but here are thoughts from history that are haunting my thoughts:

"First they came for the blacks and I looked away because I wasn't black. Then they came for the Muslims and I looked away because I wasn't Muslim. Then they came for the Latins and I looked away because I wasn't Latin. Then they came for the Jews and I looked away because I wasn't Jewish. Then they came for Christians who weren't the "right" kind of Christians. Turned out I wasn't the right kind of Christian but there was no one left to help me."

Anyone that can't see this as a possible result of today's Republican depravity is blind. This is the fruit that would be produced by the pure evil they are sowing. Somehow, someway, they must be stopped by any and all means possible. Or the world as we know it is over.

Or saying that homeless people suffering from mental illness chose to be homeless.

The GOP has been the big tent for certifiably awful human beings for close to a century now.

We always knew they were greedy pricks. But who could have imagined that they'd crash through selfishness and down to the depths of evil which they now inhabit. Worst of all, they haven't hit bottom. Because there is no bottom.
