Trump to pull National Guard off COVID-19 duties one day before their benefits would kick in

Evil of the Orange Turd knows no depths or bounds.

https://www.rawstory.com/2020/05/trump-to-pull-national-guard-off-covid-19-duties-one-day-before-their-benefits-would-kick-in-report/

According to a report from Politico, Donald Trump’s administration is recalling National Guard members assisting in states with coronavirus pandemic efforts just before many become eligible for extra benefits from the federal government.

The report states the guardsmen face a “hard stop … just one day shy of many members becoming eligible for key federal benefits, according to a senior FEMA official.”

In a May 12 call obtained by Politico, “The official also acknowledged during the call that the June 24 deadline means that thousands of members who first deployed in late March will find themselves with only 89 days of duty credit, one short of the 90-day threshold for qualifying for early retirement and education benefits under the Post-9/11 GI bill.”

Do they sit up nights and figure out how they can fuck over everyone in the country except the rich fuckers who steal everything from we the people.

Think the military will vote for him again? The BIG MAN, the fucking coward of Vietnam. He is truly an evil man through and through.

Trump was yapping about it 30 days or longer before McCabe's retirement date, but waited until a few days before to fire him, IIRC.

Trump is a nasty, vengeful creature.

This is such a slap in the face to all these people who were pulled away from their private lives to go serve their country. Trump says he loves the military, but this isn't right.

It's like the money to pay for their benefits was coming out of Trump's pocket. What does he get out of this scrooge move? The payoff has to be bigger than the PR nightmare that's going to blowback on him in the media. What is he going to get; I dunno, can he divert money into building his stupid wall, shift it to corporate donors who fund his campaign?

If you notice, Biden hasn't done much campaigning. He doesn't have to.

Active Duty days, and counting the active duty days is cumulative.

Guardsmen qualify for benefits after 90 days of active duty. So, assuming any Guardsman has had 2 days of full-time training ever — which of course they all have — they will still meet the 90 day thresholds at 89 days of service due to CV19.

Not an expert, so would appreciate any different comments.
