If we had massive testing and contact tracing, and had fewer cases than other countries. Kind of like Taiwan and South Korea did. Jumping on the virus quickly and containing it would have been a "badge of honor". Actually just behaving like the US has in the past, when we had a competent President like Barak Obama would be a badge of honor, where we lead the global effort to contain the virus and the world looked to us for answers and leadership.

The way in which we arrived at having the most cases is a stink of shame not a badge of honor. We likely have many more cases than what we are reporting, along with many more deaths, but part of the stink of shame is the fact that testing has been so piss poor that we really don't have an accurate idea of how bad the situation is. Also deaths attributable to or associated to COVID-19 are likely way under counted.
