'Whiter Shade of Pale' was an amazing song. Well the music anyway.
It was on my top 10 ever favorites all my life, & a couple of years ago I read the story behind the lyrics.


No shit, its pretty lame.
It originated with the line 'a whiter shade of pale', regarding a sexual escapade gone wrong.
Basically she was a bit too drunk & simply lay there turning a whiter shade of pale. Bummer, huh.
(Ya ok, I'm pretty sure somewhere in my youth I can relate)

From that line the song was formed, written, and was a hit however it came to be.
