(24,467 posts)1. Charlie Baker can't save the Republican brand in Massachusetts.
MA is pretty Blue, but they did elect people like Edward Brooks and Mitt Romney (I know, but Mitt did provide the BP for Obamacare). There used to be moderate and even liberal Republicans from New England....Lowell Weicker, Bill Cohen, even (sorta) Olympia Snowe and John McKernan....are they still married? But the Republican brand/franchise is now occupied by people like Paul LePage. Nutbars, extraordinaire.

No wonder that today's Republican Party is incapable of governing. It's all about retaining power.
