And I really doubt any of the Republican justices will resign, unfortunately

Not one of the conservative Justices will resign. Remember we had effective majorities in both houses of Congress during the 111th Congress. We knew that both Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito had participated in fundraising and electioneering that are impeachable offenses and neither was investigated nor forced to resign.

Democrats do not operate that way and Republicans have no shame or sense of guilt for their offenses.

the crimes any longer. I'd play hardball with McConnell's Supreme Court...if we expect to make any progress under a Democratic administration.

Democrats tend to focus on governing and moving forward with policies that try to help as many Americans as possible. Typically Republicans did the same (focus on policy) though their focus was on maintaining the status quo or enriching the wealthy more than helping most Americans. In the 1990's with Gingrich, the focus changed and the goal was to obtain and retain power with little regard for policy making. Conservatives believe that government should be used to maintain the economic and social hierarchies which they believe are the natural order of things.

They count on Democrats to maintain their focus on government as a force for helping others. Republicans, when they are in power, try to loot the commons and enforce the social order. They mess up the country economically and socially for however long they are in power, then the Democrats spend the first part of any term of power, pulling America out of the ditch, then the rest of the term just defending the modest gains.

Democrats I think, fear that if they hold Republicans accountable (even though it would be legitimate) that Republicans will retaliate, which they would regardless.

I think that Republicans or Democrats for that matter, who commit crimes should be held responsible and receive consequences. I was merely stating that this will likely not be the focus of Democrats should we come into power, especially not in the Supreme Court.

Thomas and Alito should not be on the Court and Kavanaugh should never have been confirmed.

It wont be because of any dirt on him though.
It is his wife who will be his downfall. The ethos of the Trump administration has allowed people to walk the line of legality and as it was apparently redrawn they will be on the wrong side when it snaps back.
In the public integrity realm McConnel's master plan to stack the judiciary to constrain liberal power will snap back on him as the judiciary moves to constrain the exercise of that power.
