I'll be wearing plenty of PPE for the sake of everyone, but I'll only enter his room and still maintain distance.

Edit:
I've already been "out", but mostly just for grocery store pick-up orders.

If I HAVE to do something more dangerous, for whatever reason, I have all of the PPE shown in the below picture -- masks, head coverings, face shields, gloves, safety suits (with hoods) -- and more.

Texas doesn't seem to care very much about their citizens living through this. Sorry. I'm in Maryland. We may have a repug governor, but he has done a pretty good job through this. I don't trust him, with other stuff, but he has done well with Covid.

Had the knee replaced in February, so physical therapy has been a necessity ever since, though that is finally winding down.

Honestly I don't know. It makes me anxious, as I'm 72 with health issues. I'll continue to wear a mask.

I very much want to resume beach walks with my SIL (now that I think I can maintain balmce in sand), but I want to drive in my own car and meet her there. (See below, lol) It occurs to me that I might be able to meet up with one of my old friends to do that -- just drive back to her town.

I was hoping to resume social evenings with my BIL and SIL, but if you tried contact tracing their lives you'd be amazed. Start with their adult kids, all married with kids of their own, and don't forget some of those grandkids are restless teens -- I just found out the 18 yo girl is already driving out of town for parties, which is just jaw-dropping for me. So, probably not.

One of the things I really look forward to is being able to drive myself wherever I want when searching for what I want. I hope my furniture store is still in business. I'd like to go to CVS and the health food store. The mall? Not so much. I do want to get to the Post Office and mail some books to my own grandkids.

I'm retired. It's a very modest list of desires just now...

.. I had to go to the Orthodontist the other day and that felt very safe. Everyone waits in their car and are escorted in one at a time..temp check, health check. Only 2 pts allowed in the clinic at a time..NO one allowed in but the pt.

Other than that nope nada zip will i go back to a restaurant or any other type of entertainment or social gatherings of any size UNTIL there is a safe effective and no trump tainted vaccination.

But i live on 5 acres of forest with a creek and a trout pond so i have no need to drive the 12 miles into town to do anything with anyone except get my supplies and come back home. If i was in a small house or apartment with a bunch of kids my answer would be different I'm sure.

Since he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, last year, we had been visiting him for 1 week a month. He wasn't suppose to survive until this April. We haven't visited him since early January.

I am at the point where I want to do the 12 hour drive, just to wave to him, outside his front window.

I hate that fucker in the white house more than anyone I have ever hated, just because of this. I am in tears over not being able to see the man who I admire, love and adore, during his last days with us. Just fuck trump.

It will be the first time we've gotten together (there's only 6 of us) since late Jan. We won't be hugging or touching. I am getting take out and going to my BFF;s next week to meet her new puppy, again with no hugs or touching. We haven't seen each other since early Feb. Hubby and I want to see about the golf course turned into a park, see if it's empty during the week and walk our dog there. It used to be almost totally empty during the week, but these are different times.

Maybe in June, during the week, we'll go look for a secluded beach with no on there. See if we can find a place where it's safe to walk/swim. If not, well, we will at least have a nice drive. That's as far as I'm willing to go with reopening for the next month at least. I want to see the numbers going down before I sit at a restaurant or go shopping for anything other than essential stuff.

Wed May 20, 2020, 10:35 AM
May 2020

Is to try to catch up on the hugs I have been missing from my adult children. My son and I are very close, he lives close by, but we have been avoiding physical contact because his wife is working in the funeral business and has a lot of potential exposure to the virus. My daughter lives 4,000 miles away so we can not visit frequently, I don't like it, but I have to live with it.

The first place places my wife and I will probably shop is the plant nursery or perhaps an antique store. We are becoming somewhat accustomed to staying out of retail stores and seem to have suffered no ill effects from it. Grocery shopping has become an adventure; I put on long sleeve clothes, wear a hat, mask, gloves and eye protection; I suit up like I was going into a hot laboratory and I buy twice to three time the groceries I would buy on a routine shopping trip.

My wife retired a few weeks ago, and we celebrate our 49th wedding anniversary in July. We have been a couple for 52 years; we have spent more time together during this crisis than ever before in our lives. We have rediscovered what good friends we are. So far, the disease has not had the terrible impact it has had on so many families. While we do feel a bit of "survivor guilt" we are trying to make the most of the awful situation.

They're supposed to announce when the St. Louis Zoo will reopen sometime this week. They also opened a new aquarium back in January that had to shut down in March, before I had a chance to go. But I think I'll hold off doing anything inside with the public outside of grocery shopping for a bit.

entire thing, although not as often as usual. Today, though, I ventured up to my favorite farm in Vermont to buy plants for my garden. It was a nearly normal feeling. They were quite well organized and had everyone take a cart when they came in - only a certain number of carts available - and you had to be masked and maintain social distancing. On the way out a clerk came to you to tally up the haul and arrange payment. I was grateful I was one of the first ones there after they opened because on my way out, about an hour later, there was a long line of gardeners waiting to get in. This particular place is normally a feeding frenzy around Memorial Day as everyone buys their plants. In the past they've even had a deputy there directing traffic. Beautiful day and beautiful plants. Now the work begins.
