Like if he ordered the arrest of Obama or tried to nuke Iran?

(115,656 posts)He's already as mad as a box of frogs and nobody has done a damn thing, and they aren't going to. Mike Pants would have to get the ball rolling, but all he ever does is bobble his head during press conferences while gazing at His Lardship with big googly adoring eyes, which is quite a trick when he's simultaneously kissing that vast orange ass. Nuke Iran? They wouldn't do squat if he nuked Canada. Or California.

(38,187 posts)Nothing will make the rest of our stingy* ass government go after the other part of our stingy ass government. It's them then there is us. We are two separate entities at this point, except when they demand money from us or want us to do something to make their rich donors richer. Other than that, don't expect any relief from them. It ain't coming.
*Note: they are only stingy when it comes to giving the American people relief, NOT when it comes time to make more bombs or give their rich donors more of the money they collected from us. Then, they cannot wait to dig deep and give, give, give. They are only stingy when we need help or when they are talking about our Social Security that WE PAID FOR, then they call us freeloaders and tell us tough shit.

(16,616 posts)about what to do if Trump becomes uncontrollably dangerous (IMO he has been for a long time). He said the former (living, obviously) Presidents and Chief Justice Roberts should unite in a common purpose of managing a solution, by which I took it to mean supervising his removal in some capacity. He emphasized Obama and W. Bush so it would be bipartisan.

(146,281 posts)Then, it just might. However, it would be much easier for Trump to simply resign outright and let the pardoning begin.
If he had already lost the election, there would be no real reason for him not to do that to reap the reward that pardons for him, his family, and others in his administration would provide. Mike Pence has no hope whatever of becoming President through election, but he could be in the history books as President for a month or two. That would be his reward for pardoning all of the Trumpsters in the administration.
Pence wouldn't need a pardon, himself, since it would be very difficult to pin any crimes on him. He hasn't really done much as VP.
So, no, the 25th Amendment wouldn't be needed after Trump loses the November election. Pardons would be needed, and there is a direct route to those through resignation by Trump.

(22,912 posts)The most they might do is drag their feet at implementing crazy commands. If they were off the chart dangerous commands, they might not comply. Bit no current Republican stoogie would take the heat for removing Trump from office.
