Republican Party Spent $400,000 Buying Copies of Rep. Dan Crenshaw's Book

THU, MAY 21ST, 2020 BY DARRAGH ROCHE

An arm of the Republican Party has spent $400,000 purchasing copies of a book written by one congressman. A political campaign filing revealed the expenditure.

The National Republican Congressional Committee spent the large sum of money on 25,500 copies of Rep. Dan Crenshaw’s book Fortitude. They used their copies as part of a fundraising drive.

The NRCC, which works to elect Republicans to the House, offered the books in an apparently successful attempt to solicit donations. The committee explained its reasoning in a message to donors.

“As a strong supporter of Conservative values, I thought you’d like to get one, so we’re putting one aside for you for 24 hours,” an NRCC missive said. “Claim it now to make sure you receive your exclusive signed copy of my book, Fortitude,” the message said, in the guise of Rep. Crenshaw.

This seems to be the only way republican "authors" can get their books on the New York Times Best Seller List. Sad!

I approve. Just like Trump's campaign managers looting the campaign treasury.

They rarely pass over an opportunity to get money from the Repuke Party and have had plenty of notice.

And the RNC did the same thing. Bought a ton of them to give away to donors, and boosted the book up on the NYT Best seller list. Whenever I saw them in the book department of Costco, I always covered them up with another book. I used to do the same thing with Bill O'Reilly's garbage too. We misbehave when we can!

It's a good release with no words required.

My grandkids bought Trump books CHEAPLY because they rarely sold that well, except to the Repuke Party. They knew how much I hated Trump, so they gave me a whole bunch of them. We had a good laugh.

They regularly bail out failing RW authors. Don Jr., Ann Coulter, Jerome Corsi, Dinesh D'Souza by buying thousands of cases of their books and usually giving them away, even when they are unwanted.

7. I worked a job one day helping a man move - I pack up the contents, label and the movers put them

In a truck for the move. He had a room in his basement filled with all these right winger books. They were never read as the spines had no evidence of the books being open. I innocently ask him why all the books and he told me when he contributed to the repuke party they sent him these books.

But the funny/ironic part as we were getting ready to pack up and move because it was a one week job, the wife announced mid week of the move that she was divorcing him because he was A deadbeat and cruel to her and instead we packed a truck and he moved up to Reno where he said there were a lot of people who thought like him and he was tired of liberal SF. I bet those boxes of books were never opened and are in storage.
