Democratic U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren has agreed to host a high-dollar fundraising event for Joe Bidens presidential campaign, the New York Times reported on Saturday, citing three people familiar with the plans.
Warren will host the online event on June 15, saying the three spoke on condition of anonymity.
The senators promise to abstain from private fundraising events - or even phone calls with wealthy contributors - was a key feature of her own campaign to become the Democratic Partys nominee to challenge Republican President Donald Trump in the Nov. 3 election.
The lawmaker from Massachusetts frequently accused other candidates of kowtowing to rich donors and selling access to their time for money.
A spokesman for Biden declined to comment. A spokeswoman for Warren did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Saturday night.

"Nice" to be 'holier than thou,' I guess, but sometimes other matters are more important; this is one of those times.

(18,402 posts)about big-donor private fundraisers. She used it as a cudgel against Biden and against Buttigieg, among others, all the while posing as a candidate of the little people (despite the myriad of big-donor fundraisers shed held previously to fatten her coffers sufficiently to pretend to be above it all for the primaries).
Other former candidates have held virtual fundraisers for Biden that were open and inclusive. Just yesterday Pete Buttigieg held a fundraiser/ discussion with Biden, the price of admission for which was ... whatever you could afford to contribute. That contribution, of any amount, gained you a ticket to the hour-long event (no wine, unless you pored your own). 35,000 people attended and a million dollars was raised, average donation being $27 (or $29, I cant remember which).
Im just pointing all this out.
