It will be interesting to see what the infection rate in Missouri will be in about two weeks. Goddamned fools. I wouldn't be surprised if, before this thing is over, there are more deaths than if the federal government did nothing.

pushing his "cut" members to "protest" for reopening the country. He also has claimed since day on that the whole pandemic would be "gone" come summer, and that it was all a hoax.

When you have a narcissistic ass in charge of things, you can only expect to see disaster after disaster, and trump has proven this.

Several people who attended a high school swim party in Arkansas have contracted Covid-19, Gov. Asa Hutchinson told reporters on Saturday.

"A high school swim party that I'm sure everybody thought was harmless. They're young, they're swimming, they're just having activity and positive cases resulted from that," Hutchinson said.

The governor declined to provide further details on the swim party but noted the incident was "just an encouragement for us to be disciplined in our activities."

All the nation's worn out, frazzled, PTSD'ed health care workers should go on vacation and use up all their sick days starting in about 2-3 weeks?

Let the hospitals and care facilities hand out Official 2020 Darwin Awards to these individuals showing up at their hospitals and care facilities with no staff to take care of them.......

9. Main Street was crowded where I live
Sun May 24, 2020, 10:01 AM
May 2020

In a popular (repuglican) vacation town in North Carolina.

I drove by and was really surprised to see the sidewalks full on Saturday.

And starting next week, for most of the summer, the town council has voted to shut main Street to cars so restaurants can extend their outside seating to the street. The town basically doubles in size from April thru October as summer residents and visitors invade. They help to keep our local businesses thriving.

I work 2 days a week in a shop on main Street. We reopened 2 weeks ago with a sign on the door saying"thank you for wearing your mask"

Some have them on already, but Many are not wearing them, some put one on before entering, some turn away because they don't or won't wear one, some stick their head in and ask if they can come in without a mask.

I added a sign "we have bandana's" and have been selling them steadily. We have shipments of masks due in soon. I don't work on Saturday, which is their busiest day. I want to avoid crowded places as much as possible.

Not only Missouri, but many places will see surges from this behavior.

We are being the self-righteous morons we have always been. Don’t you know that Americans have immunity to all things “foreign” including viruses by just believing that we are.

The right wing racist like to talk about the “great culling of the herd” and here we are the morons, the religious bigots and the right wing nazis are taking the “bullet” of culling so the rest of us can live! They aren’t morons they are heroes!

Do I really need to use the sarcasm emoticon?

when the spikes get too big to ignore, things will change. Some shutting down will recommence. A week later, the spike in deaths will be undeniable. Already, today saw the highest US 24 hr increase in new cases (over 39,000) since the day I started recording the data off the Bing COVID tracker, March 21st.

This Memorial weekend may be celebrated in the future as the beginning of the end of republican governance. Change may not come easily.

It's out in the middle of Missouri and I spent a bit of time there a while back. It's as close to Jesusville as you can get. Most of the billboards I saw were peddling Jesus with every kind of message you can imagine.

I haven't been there in years, but as a guess, Lake of the Ozarks is Trump country where the orange creature and Jesus are virtual equals.
