When investigated, freedom in a society comes with obligations and responsibilities, or freedom is mistaken for tyranny over others, which is exactly what we are seeing.

Without putting any emotive gloss on the word freedom, it is a very reasonable, rational proposition that most intelligent people can comprehend. If freedom is not reciprocal, it becomes an extension of a person's will to power and self interests which can then easily become harmful or destructive to others, which then negates their freedom to survive and have well being, (eudaimonia) in various ways that are commonly understood and recognized.

Rather then being proponents of true freedom, (which has to be egalitarian to function properly) many people are simply demonstrating their ignorance of what freedom entails and, in the long-run, obscuring and destroying its availability and progress in a society that calls itself, "the land of the free." Well, not by their standards, that's for sure.

They tend to be greater, internal enemies of our freedom than any external threat provides right now and that's really foolish and dangerous.
