Because that position is one of depraved indifference to both justice and to the safety of every man in the nation. As for this accusation, it would now take at least a couple hours to examine all the documentation investigative journalists have turned up about Reade/McCabe's patterns of many different types of dishonesty over the years, court records of accusations against others, accusations of others against her (link to a collection in Politico below), general whackjobbery as in her adoration of that wonderful, sweet man Putin, easily identified inaccuracies and highly questionable points in her stories, like discrepancies in her description of the hall where she claimed it happened, etc.

Also btw, among the things that have been uncovered is that at least 3 times (found so far) within the past couple of years she's cited under oath in court working in Biden's office as a credential and spoke of his support of protections against women.

Her testimony probably amounts to perjury, not because Biden wasn't a protector of women in the senate but because she lied about her credentials in abuse counseling. She also always lied about the position she held in Biden's offices. She worked for 8-9 months as an entry-level clerk sorting constituent mail to direct it up to the people assigned to answer it, and she was reportedly fired for throwing away file copies of their documentation of how they handled it.
