So I went to a brewery today.

And was pleasantly surprised. I have been picking up beer since the lockdown began. But the wife and I decided to actually venture out and see what it was like.

We were prepared to turn around and leave if it seemed crazy, but it was cool. The tables were spaced out 10 feet apart with only 4 chairs each. You were not allowed to move tables or chairs. Hand sanitizer readily available. All beer served out of plastic cups you had to discard yourself and all workers masked up. Never saw a patron coming close to their neighbors. Best of all it is a huge high ceiling place that had no feel of being confined. I asked and when all chairs are full no one is allowed in.

It was the first time in 2 months we have been out to actually sit in an establishment and it was nice.

So at least some places were following the cdc guidelines.

I felt safe.

In my not inexperienced opinion the best brewery in Central Florida.

They do great darks and even better Farmhouse sours. Some real obscure brews.

And a Dark Lager. One of my all time favorites.

Well OK there was that one night...

Sat outside, about 10 people and two horse sized dogs. Really nice. Probably won’t enjoy the packed places, when they return.

But it was raining and windy. Even though the tables were totally dry it was freaking freezing for we Floridans. High 70’s! Northerner DU members would have been loving it!

8. Got it. It was in 80s and clear here. Plus, they weren't letting folks inside.

The plastic cups were fine considering the situation, but missed the chilled glass.

7. I'm hoping to hear my favorite brewery is going to open up their outdoor seating area

They'd have to switch out the long tables for ones that allowed for distancing, but they have a really big outside area with a firepit. AND, the Flint City Taco Truck is in their parking lot!

Right now, they and the local hard cider business have howlers and growlers for drive up purchase. I guess we could grab one of those, AND a variety of the tacos and gather around my little chiminea, in my back yard. Just not quite the same thing, though.

Nobody's going to finance you if you're just making more Coors Light, and the brewers out here do it as a labor of love.

A Very fortunate confluence.

Also fortunate is that our truck farmers out here have found hops to be a profitable new crop.

Went to two yesterday to pick up some beer. Sadly they don't allow outside containers at the moment (for obvious reasons) but you could buy beer to go. No indoor / outdoor seating yet.
