St. Louis Post-Dispatch Editorial Exposes Trump's 'Colossal' Lie About Obama

Donald Trump has repeatedly blamed former President Barack Obama for his own administration’s mishandling of the coronavirus pandemic.

“The last administration left us nothing,” Trump said last month.

But the St. Louis Post-Dispatch found that Trump’s own budget documents show the opposite ― exposing what it called “a lie of colossal Trumpian proportions.”

The newspaper’s editorial board said the Trump administration told Congress that the Obama administration left it with everything needed for a pandemic ― and sought big budget cuts from the programs as a result.

Trump’s 2020 budget asked Congress to cut the pandemic preparedness budget by $102.9 million, part of $595.5 million in requested cuts to public health preparedness and response outlay.

“Obama left office with an unblemished record of building up the nation’s pandemic preparedness,” the newspaper said. “Trump systematically sought to dismantle it.”

I think that seniors have finally seen the light, being that we've been made victims of the CV, 'if you get the CV and you're old, go ahead and die for the rest of us'.

No. I don't so. I'm sick and tired of others professing vast intelligence telling seniors what to do.

The editorial was concise and more informative than most news articles. Well worth the read and bookmark. Journalists should aspire to do as well in getting the point across with straightforward facts.

that trump team was considering the recent 2019 congo ebola event similarly, maybe ramp it up with some budget cuts. when that got under control they may have been stupid enough to think they could use covid similarly, and that may explain the delay in acting.

Thanks 4 that factual link. Here we are all hating on a sick, demonic moron. Maybe he enjoys it. I don't know. So many good minds & intelligent folks are on our side of the fence. But that will have little impact on those electoral college voters. Anydody read "Hiding in Plain Sight" by Sarah Kendzior? She is often on MSNBC. She warned of Trump's presidency ten yrs ago. It explains a lot. Sarah warns us, if we want to get out of this mess we have a huge job ahead of us. I sincerely hope we can get it done.

Lock him up.

Whatever he whines, cries, tweets dement conspiracy theories all day won't give him any power over how the States will manage the votes.

The way it's going, the 2018's Historic Blue Wave will turn into a Historic Blue Tsunami. Most voters are getting sick and tired of the constant chaos, the daily avalanche of lies and temper tantrums, the inject-disinfectant-and-shine-UV-light-in-the-ass absolute irresponsible crazyness, the carelessness for the preventable 100,000 deads while going golfing and costing over $113M, the endless corruption.

Granted, no complacency allowed. We all saw what happened 3.5 years ago.
