Today's Costco trip

Haven't been since the lockdown started in March, and we had a long list of basics that needed refilling, so we went to the Redwood City, CA, Costco. We got there around 10:30 (they don't seem to have their senior hours anymore, at least they're not listed on the web site) and there was a line of about 40 people (at least it was in the shade), all of whom were spacing themselves out and wearing masks. People were let in in small bunches. Inside, people mostly continued to observe a reasonable distance from other shoppers. I did see 2 people not wearing masks, but they looked to be under 10. Most shoppers seemed to have a list.

Meat selection was spotty: no packs of chicken thighs or wings, but we were able to find some normal-sized chickens. The fish selection looked good, not as much meat as previous visits. They did have a greater variety of produce in small-family quantities for a change. There was no shortage of toilet paper or other paper goods.

Overall, it was a more pleasant shopping experience than Costco usually is. I'm still puzzling about the shopper who had an entire cart full of cans of instant lemonade mix - and a bag of lemons.

Maybe it's for a big tub of lemonade and then float real slices on top.
That said, would be a pretty big party during a pandemic!

As long as your order is over $75 there is no delivery fee.
By the time I had my order together it added up to well over the $75.
My order came by UPS in 2 boxes within 4 days. I was getting low on Almonds, Coffee Beans & Chicken Stock, so was tickled pink.💕 I even threw in some not necessary, but nice to have items.

To fulfillment centers they are working through the backlog fast so it should be a 2 day turn around next time.

I was surprised they filled out of California, but maybe the next time I order it will be out of SLC. Whatever, I'm glad to have the option. 🤗

3. Maybe that shopper was taking that old saying, "When life gives you lemons...

60 and over. We were asked to wait outside until 10 am. Which was the posted opening time online.

Mix up the instant in a big tub in the back. Put the real lemons in a basket on the counter.

They’re all pretty much limiting the number of people in the store, metering folks in and out. The line outside gets long as folks keep their 6’ distance.
