Never have we had such a total void of national leadership at such a critical time.

American presidents have usually risen to the occasion when a crisis came. Even if they were bad at some things, they were good at others. You can find some redeeming qualities, even with the worst we've seen.

But right now there is zero leadership when we need it most. Not from the White House anyway.

We have some strong Democratic governors and members of Congress, but its not their job to lead the whole country.

I keep asking "How on earth did we get here? How can we make sure this never happens again? Will we have a chance to fix what's broken or is this the demise of a country which was once great?"

I've not liked, trusted, disagreed with, & even considered stupid, but NEVER has one individual had all of those disqualifications at the same time. THIS ONE DOES, and he's also the ONLY ONE I ever HATED!

4. I wouldn't call it a "void"...

That would imply complete, chaotic lack of direction. This is far worse: a “leader” who is boldly and persuasively urging his followers (and, by extension, the rest of us, willing or otherwise) into the most disastrous course of action possible. And we’ll all pay the price for his willful folly.

If he weren’t basically encouraging people to go without masks, and overtly encouraging people to go out in public, more people would end up surviving this thing.

"Elected" in quotes... I knew he would be a joke, a terrible president

BUT I NEVER THOUGHT HE WOULD BE EVIL!

9. Agreed. More like a black hole of leadership: infinite density, and no light can escape.

There’s no question that we are a country adrift in a high sea. Clearly the WORST administration in U.S. history, on numerous fronts. It has deliberately fomented and furthered cultural divisions, to the point where fascistic Americans are ready to inflict violence on democracy-loving Americans (well beyond their longstanding war against people of color).

Getting rid of Trump is a start, but there’ll remain that delusional 33%-40% who can’t see through the insane charlatan who’s only nominally in charge; who’ll spread the most vicious and ugly conspiracies; and who’ll demagogue the hell out of a Democratic president simply because of party affiliation.

The best scenario would be a Democratic president, senate and congress, whereby things could be accomplished despite the nihilistic, destructive, obstructing loons.

Just saying..........

They have shown us, repeatedly, who they really are and what they really stand for. We should believe them.
