Two just today.

Today my great aunt in New Orleans died of COVID. She was 96. She had tested positive twice, and was declared asymptomatic and not at risk. She passed between breakfast and the pre-lunch check, without ever showing a fever.

Today, a friend from photography class died of COVID. He was 21. He got hit with a fever on Friday and was admitted to the ER. We got news this morning about 9 that he didn't make it.

Today, a friend who is a nurse told me that the illness she's been at home with for the past 10 days is COVID. She's 31. She says it feels like there's a belt around her chest, and every time she breathes, it just a little tighter. The hospital has advised her not to come in until her fever is over 101. She's scared.

Yesterday, my test results finally came back after 6 days of waiting. I was negative.

I'm relieved for my own results, but I feel sick that after the elation of knowing I've been past over for now, today all this hit. And the day's not over yet.

Y'all. Take care of the ones you love. May Eir watch over us all.

I hope your nurse friend recovers fully. Our healthcare workers are constantly exposed and largely unprotected.

He has mid-level Alzheimers. We'd been keeping him at home to avoid exposure, but he fell last week (he's been falling a lot) and couldn't get up. He was admitted to a geriatric psych ward in an attempt to adjust his meds as he hasn't seen his doctor or had blood work done in months now.

We found out this weekend that his room mate had it. My father was moved to a Covid ward as he couldn't stay where he was and today we got the word that he is positive.

Fuck Trump and the stupid Bleach Drinkers.

I really hope he doesn't develop symptoms. You and your family are going through enough just worrying about the falls and the meds. I wish you and him the very best.

I was tested three times last week. 2 took 48 hrs and the other 12. All negative. Turned out to be sepsis from Kidney infection. 103 fever. Got out out of hospital after last 2 came back. Feel way better now.
