If Hillary were president, China would not have dared to attack Hong Kong. They are doing this now

because they know trump is going to lose reelection and that Biden is not to be messed with in this arena, or any other arena for that matter.

But they know that they can run all over drumph with impunity.

1. Unfortunately it is much more complicated than that. What I do believe is that the entire situation

leading up to what is happening in Hong Kong, from the trade wars, to not engaging in useful dialogs with China on everything would have probably avoided the situation in HK entirely under Hillary

2. I think its unlikely China invades Hong Kong.

It's more saber rattling.

If they do invade, a shit load of capital is going to vacate the city. There will be a lot of vacant and expensive skyscrapers. Add to that, most of the upper and some of the middle class will vacate the city. Some of the lower class will also move out once they no longer have customers.

And the nightmare scenario for China, they move to Taiwan and immediately start pushing for recognition at the UN...which they will probably get. And China doesn't have the capability to invade Taiwan effectively and then there is that treaty we have with them if they ever got attacked.

Hence why they are trying take over via politics and intimidation. The military option will burn them very badly...and I didn't even go into all the sanctions that will get slapped on them. It will make Crimea look like a picnic.
