In 29+ years, things have only gotten worse...or so it seems to me. Maybe it just wasn't caught on video as often.
The real problem is that it hasn't gotten "better". I am so disgusted that I am nearly speechless.
Many have stated things about this issue much more eloquently than I am capable.

“We can never be satisfied as long as the Negro is the victim of the unspeakable horrors of police brutality,” Martin Luther King, Jr. said during his address at the March on Washington in 1963.

Well, I am not satisfied with America nor with it's leadership or lack thereof. Somehow, we must make America a nation where EVERY person is unafraid to walk the sidewalk or drive a car.
