Reflections from Joe Madison this morning ("The Black Eagle") on Urban View

Joe Madison (“the Black Eagle”) is a very wise and experienced black man who hosts a program on SiriusXM channel Urban View. He has been involved in Civil Rights actions for decades and made some important observations and points:

Call/write to county prosecutor Michael Freeman and ask him to arrest the four police officers because “if you do not arrest them today, you’re going to have hell on your hands this weekend. And not just in Minneapolis.”

“Be mindful of provocateurs. We mindful of folk with their backpacks. Be mindful because you don’t know who they are.” He saw footage of white people at the protests who were flashing White Power signs.

He lived through the Watts riots and said nothing we are seeing is new. “This is not new… So you’ve got the folks setting the fires, the folks agitating… and there were people looting who really don’t give a damn about George Floyd.”

About the Michael Freeman news conference:

“Let me tell you where they really fucked up. With that news conference, when that prosecutor said, ‘Well maybe he won’t get arrested, maybe he didn’t do what you saw.’ Somebody always once told me… I’ve got too many years doing this stuff. Whenever you hear the word ‘but’ you listen… I’m solution oriented. I’m saying loudly (he digresses here to talk about the arrest of the CNN crew). Here’s the solution: arrest these officers before tonight. If you don’t, you think you had problems last night? You will have a horrific situation from coast to coast. You messed up Mr. Prosecutor.”

His show got very dark near the end, with him agreeing with callers who thought someone might try to trigger a “race war.” (I thought he would cut the callers off, but he agreed with them!)

I just think anything from a person with his experience is worth thinking about.
