Comparison..Minneapolis to Other Cities with Riots. & One Question:

...Other cities in the U.S. have had riots. This is not the first, and won't be the last. Did the leaders of Minneapolis consult with other leaders who have been through all of this?. Would other city leaders help those in Minneapolis to prevent or lower the violence? I think they would have, and would have informed those in Minneapolis to arrest the cops immediately. Think about that one. One call to someone who has been through this might have helped prevent this..Just ..One Phone Call!

I can say that the law enforcement response last night was way better. Setting a fire in an unoccupied building or looting a TV or bottle of liquor is bad and can’t be tolerated......

BUT it also should not result in a death sentence and summary execution on the street. That happened in Detroit. It didn’t happen in Minneapolis last night. They did something right.

If the police had tried to overwhelm and arrest the rioters last night, people would have died. As it was, the destruction was at least somewhat limited and contained. I expect we will have more violence tonight. Hopefully it will be similarly limited and contained, and people won’t die.

I remember being very scared of the national guard guys and the soldiers.

My biggest memory was riding our bikes down the block to where the national guard tanks were parked. They sat there for a week with the crews sitting on the curb hanging out.

a policy and procedure manual on how to manage any riot scenarios. The time to consult with other cities that have dealt with rioters is long before the need arises. The people involved in decision making in riot control should have had some training and be familiar with their department guidelines or at least have a damn Flow Chart.

Everyone should have been prepared. Additional police called in from other cities, All the gear and equipment should have been ready at hand.

But that's totally different than how justice is applied to those cops. Administrative leave with pay is OK for some minor incident, but not for a death. At the very least those cops should have been arrested for manslaughter until the case could be presented to a grand jury for formal charges.

with Racial issues that led to riots. Each and ever time, some one says we got to create a Commission to prevent this in the future. Yah,the White Rich Establishment from the Burbs always ran these so called Commissions and you knew from the get go what the end results were. Tons of Reports, lots of back slapping, vague promises, lots of Pressers and Photo ops.
