Absentee ballot requests go missing in Fulton ahead of Georgia primary

Absentee ballot requests from an unknown number of Fulton County voters are missing, apparently lost in the election office’s swamped email system.

Fulton Elections Director Richard Barron said he ordered an audit to find emailed absentee ballot requests that are unaccounted for. Some affected voters might not receive absentee ballots in time for the June 9 primary. In-person voting is also available, but election officials encouraged voters to mail absentee ballots during the coronavirus pandemic.

...it's stuff like this that makes me wonder what it's going to take for everybody to riot? So far, our silence has saved us. Will it continue?

This happened long before the pandemic. I mean...it happened in Georgia if we want to be specific. We have people being disenfranchised from voting, and everybody here knows it happens too frequently in Black areas for it to be a coincidence.

This has an impact on us all.

but mine (registered Democrat) hasn't arrived. I've asked them to rush it out.

We're not residents of Fulton, but are of GA, so 'nuf said.

So you request an absentee ballot and don't receive it. But when you go to the polls to vote in person, the register says you got an absentee ballot. So they give you a provisional ballot which Mr. Kemp will toss into the trash.

I used to work as a poll inspector in California, so I know how the whole absentee thing works. Except that in California, the registrar will verify that your absentee ballot was not received and count the provisional one. In Georgia? Maybe not so much.
