---sigh---some of my "neighbors" argue on social media that 1.) George Floyd died of a

drug overdose, and, 2.) his death was justified because "he was trying to grab the cop's gun".

Unspoken---but understood---was the attitude " He was one of THOSE, so what's the big deal?"

Voluntary isolation has its advantages.

More examples of how endemic racism is in our society. Lots of people think that way...unfortunately.

Twisted Shitler should have been pulled from contention after the Trump University Scandal broke, IMO, and when he wasn't, that told me all I needed to know about the Republicans.

No transparency and sure as hell no vetting.

Since Mr. Floyd was handcuffed by the cops as soon as he got out of his car, was escorted by them to the other side of the vehicle, and met his demise with Officer Chauvin's knee on his throat while three of his brother cops assisted in the murder, you're welcome to point out where, in any of those videos, you see Mr. Floyd making a grab for anyone's gun. It never happened, and your argument is specious.

Longer answer: Why you would advance such a bogus argument in the face of the video evidence, I can only imagine, but I will say it doesn't reflect well on you or your character.

She's a real pip and I don't let her out very often because she can wither people with a look.

I don't get it either, so Chauvin (unfortunate name) was pissed off. I spend most of my day pissed off, usually at idiot Republicans, and I don't go around abusing them, much less killing them. Being pissed off at somebody is no justification for a cop to do anything but cuff them, load them into the cop car, and drive them off to jail. The towing and impound fees on Floyd's car would have been punishment enough for anything he'd actually done.

Chauvin would be wise to plea bargain down to assault, but even a murder conviction with his buddies as accessories won't change anything. The damage Nixon did by turning police into an occupying army to get around Posse Comitatus is increasing every single year it is allowed to go on, and no one in positions of power seems to care about changing it.

The time has come to simply say ,"You're an idiot!" and walk away.
Condescension, pity, disbelief, sadness, disgust are all possible messages, depending upon the relationship.
Dad, I love you but you are dumb.
Sis, you are sick, sad!
Totally nuts, neighbor.
Car_forum_guy, "I wouldn't take spark-plug advice from you".
Fred, you fix things fine but your politicethics (sic) are FU-d up- You're fired.

It is no longer worth my time to argue or educate. If I must engage, I take the talk straight to ethics, with a dash of the opponents' hypocrisy. No one wants to admit their moral compass points the wrong way.
This is a cake walk with god-fearers.

It is down to a choice between humanity and insanity.
Everyone dies; killing is a choice.
Too many usa-americans worship death and destruction in movies, games and voting booths.
