Trump administration talk about starting a new arms race has the Kremlin on edge. It’s as if they suddenly realized their buffoon has his finger on the thermonuclear button.

The sense of alarm was palpable on Russian state TV this week. Images of nuclear explosions flashed on an oversize screen as Evgeny Popov, host of the popular program 60 Minutes, talked about reports that Donald Trump may reverse a decades-long moratorium on nuclear testing.

“Previously, the Kremlin saw Trump’s erratic actions as net benefits for Moscow.”
“Of course it’s a bad idea,” said Popov. “If tomorrow the United States conducts a nuclear test, the day after tomorrow China will conduct a nuclear test, followed by Israel, then us [Russia], then France, then the U.K. and then—who knows—maybe Pakistan, North Korea, or Iran?”

Popov wondered out loud why Trump isn’t being impeached for contemplating such measures, which surely will have global repercussions. And this after Russia cheered him on throughout his actual impeachment and trial a few months ago.

It was as if Russian state media—which mirror the Kremlin’s thinking—suddenly realized with a shock that this American president they talk about as their agent, almost their creation, is a monster beyond their control.

Previously, the Kremlin saw Trump’s erratic actions as net benefits for Moscow. The Russians could list quite a few self-described victories: partial withdrawals of U.S. forces in the Middle East; America’s internal destabilization; the weakening of the U.S. position of global leadership; undermined trans-Atlantic unity with NATO allies; dismissal of the charges against shell companies that financed a Russian troll farm that interfered in the 2016 presidential election; and symbolic coronavirus gestures designed to portray Russia as a friendly nation.

But this nuclear test threat has the Kremlin rattled.

They could then decide to immediately invoke the 25th Amendment, or they can decide to stand around and watch there own political destruction, and subsequent criminal trial when their treason is revealed.

After all this time, I find it hard to believe that a pee tape reveal would make much of a dent. But if you consider the extent to which he and his minions have gone to conceal his tax returns, unless they contain deductions for making snuff films, then I suppose that it's proof of financial indebtedness that chills his spine, not anything sexual.

Given republicans' proclivity for strange sexual acts and Trump's need to project as a virile male stud, and his clear racism, what he don't want seen may be something like one of the hookers lubing his asshole up and then working it over with a black dildo. Even if Putin only showed him a few of the scenes leading up to the main event, even Trump's rapidly eroding brain would likely remember what the lead-in scenes lead to.

The rest of the republican leadership, Putin may simply have compromising video of them with some of the young Russians that he had flood into the USA to compromise corrupt republicans. My guess is the reason why Putin sided with republicans is he found them easier to blackmail than democrats, also, republicans have been tilting toward the white nationalist thing for a while, a feature that likely pleased Putin.
