(32,017 posts)40 million unemployed? Nope. I didnt see that coming.
Pandemic? Nope. I didnt see that coming.
Widespread rioting in American cities? Nope. I didnt see that coming.
Trump being an incompetent buffoonalmost certainly the worst President in American history? Well, yes. I did see that coming. I just didnt know how it would play out.
Now I know, or I THINK I do. Trump isnt quite done with us yet. Things are likely to get worse before they get better.

But after suffering 3.5 years of the crazy horseshit that is Trump, I've changed my mind. As this point I'm not sure if we will or can recover from the damage. This is not the same country anymore. The mask is off - America is no longer the a beacon of hope. It is so sad.

I was most concerned about the Supremes, didnt imagine the machine-like speed that McConnell would implement. All those empty seats left by Obama, blocked by McConnell, were part of the plan. We should have the legal means to lock up that scum of the earth.

(15,083 posts)Maybe not this bad, but bad. And everyone around me laughed at me, spouted "checks and balances," and basically dismissed me as crazy. And since it's not happening right in our yard, they're still laughing at me for being so depressed and hopeless about all the shit that has happened and continues to happen.
I cried for weeks after that election and I wasn't wrong or crazy.
Edited to add that my family also calls me intolerant because I fucking have no time or energy for anyone who still supports MF45.
