I had started the day hoping for the best. But as nighttime approaches, I think there's a possibility things will deteriorate quickly.

It's just discouraging. I'm sorry but I don't like the violence. I don't want protestors to get hurt or police get hurt. At this point it looks like the protestors are the only ones getting hurt. I understand the frustration and if I thought this would lead to changes, then I could see it. But I don't. I lived through the 60s and took part in many demonstrations. The violence then just led to repression and the re-election of Nixon.
