Trump is OK if the protests go on forever.
He believes that will put him back in the White House, because one thing voters will not tolerate is anarchy in the streets.
Trump is content to just let the violence and looting continue. He will use it to divide the people even further. Do you think he will not?

1. Doing nothing is not going to win him any new votes.
the cultists will swear what he is doing is great leadership and the violence is all the liberals fault. They already are, but he already had their vote.

3. Watch his polls over the next week. They will go up. There are enough
racists out there to blame POC and side with Trump.

5. I think you are spot on. I was shocked this morning when a Trump supporter
actually said those COPS murdered Mr. Floyd. He agrees the COPS should be charged with murder but says burning cities down
won't get justice for anyone. I have always seen this guy as a racist but he actually agrees the COPS were wrong. |

8. The racists are already with him
I doubt this will gain him any new support since it's unlikely anyone frightened or uneasy about what's happening is suddenly going to cast their lot with the man who is causing it and not doing anything to stop it.

14. Agree
this will stop and likely draw back the increasing leads Joe and a lot of D senators/congress candidates had been building up.
It really can not stop soon enough. The only fight that counts is on November 3rd. |

2. tRUMP doing his best to do his worst isn't going to win him any votes either but then he didn't
win the vote in 2016. He won the ratfucking then and there's no reason to think that he, reTHUGS
and cultists have changed that strategy... My own feeling is that they don't know what they've gotten themselves into. Yet. |

4. I must disagree yes he will always keep his base but the more riots and burning of
buildings the more it will push voters in swing states over to his side. All it takes is his base and a few more percent and he wins
the EC just like in 2016. This has got to stop now or he will be re-elected. |

6. "OK if the protests go on forever." He will love it if there is still unrest around election time
Will there be riots in 155 days? Will he incite more riots around this time to get more RW racist votes??? I hope not..

It's his only chance at reelection at this point. But it's a really good chance.

13. I doubt that it is a really good chance.
I think where this is headed is former Presidents will have to step forward and do a unifying message to Americans, Trump isn't capable of that. Once those former Presidents have to step in, it will be obvious to the vast majority of voters that we take a severe and likely fatal risk to the country by Trump getting re-elected.
I think that his MAGATS are jacked up by this, but most Americans want calm leadership to tone down the hostility while we work our way out of this crisis. I believe that one thing that will come out of this is more reform of police forces and their tactics. People don't realize it but the crisis several years ago in Missouri did lead to significant reform in a lot of police departments, and the rise of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs that hold their officers to high standards of conduct. We need to VOTE!!!! to force progress to continue. When we don't vote or spend precious time fighting among ourselves, reactionary politicians get elected and the whole country takes a step back. |

19. They are likely being asked.
It should be a group effort from the three living former Presidents. If President Obama goes it alone, that gives Trump a juicy target with which to excite his base, if Presidents Bush and Carter are part of the same appeal, that cuts the legs from under a claim against President Obama by Trump.

11. Someone mentioned the reaction of on the fence voters yesterday.
The conclusion was that the street violence would push them more conservative. I am not sure that will be the case. What I think will likely happen is they will come to realize that unconditional support of police and tough on crime politicians has been and will continue to be a losing strategy.
What the actions happening in streets all over the country are showing is that there is not enough police to push back rage about grotesque wrongdoing from police. So the on the fence voters will have a choice, vote for things as they are and face large consequences, or vote for a calm transitional figure like Biden to lead the country toward better days. |

16. "... one thing voters will not tolerate is anarchy in the streets."
So, if Trump just lets this anarchy in the streets go on, more people will support him, because "voters will not tolerate anarchy in the streets"?
That doesn't even begin to make sense. |

21. What he is going to do and was going to do long before they murdered this man is
make voting by mail nearly impossible and voting in person will be unsafe as well.
He is not leaving the WH either way, that much I am pretty sure of OR if he does leave he is going with an army to protect him from being arrested and Putin will be in the middle of it all. |
