This is NOT Bernie's revolution! It's a gross suggestion.

I see a lot of Bernie supporters posting about the riots and giving credit to Bernie. People are trying to say the anger is about student loan debt or Med 4 all. This is an insult and a big reason why Bernie lost the black community in massive numbers. This is about RACISM and POLICE BRUTALITY. There is a faction of the left that refuses to HEAR the black community and instead, they want to add there own reasons. Take a look at what some are saying here:

Quote:

I've never so thirsted for a revolution before –
There is a shift happening I can really feel it. The protest in Portland was charged up by young people who were really angry, I have seen more and more of this in the last year. The failure of bernie has seemingly added to that as well. People let him go when he told them to go to biden, they turned their backs and walked away. I am trying to figure ouT how I want to fit into this new paradigm But i am excited. I have been pretty down in the last 9 months watching the enviro and social justice groups wallow in politics people who call themselves anti war who post loving stuff about obama. I am letting them go.

I wish we could focus all these people into taking out the billionaires in the country destroying only their holdings their houses, their boats and planes. They have slaughtered so many people around the world it is time to deal with them.

That's the crowd that insisted HRC was dying of a dozen fatal diseases during her 2016 campaign, had to wear a metal body-brace to stand upright at campaign events, and used a body double in order to hide her illness from the public.

but I haven't heard him say one word about George Floyd's murder. Not. One. Word.

I'm not happy about that. I'm disappointed about that. I'm actually pissed off about that, to be honest. His ideas are great in theory, but where the fuck is he when it comes to civil rights? If he cannot be bothered to speak up on civil rights, then he is missing an important bit of character that I need to see in a politician.

If he cannot be bothered, I will gladly vote for the ones who can take the time to at least say something.

and continues to insist that the solution is entirely economic - in other words, if after The Revolution all black people have good jobs and plenty of money they won't be discriminated against. Which, of course, is bullshit.

When we talk about systemic racism, we’re not just talking about Black lives killed by police with no accountability. We’re not just talking about Black lives killed by COVID-19. We’re not just talking about a third of Black children in our country living in poverty, and millions of Black kids going to totally inadequate schools. We’re not just talking about Black women having a maternal death rate three times the rate of white women, and Black families owning 1/10th the wealth of white families. Instead, we are talking about a system of pervasive racism that impacts every aspect of our lives. This has got to end. We need equity for Black people, for Brown people, and for all who are marginalized and made disposable in a system and an economy that treats millions of people as unworthy of the basic decency of human respect.

"George Floyd’s murder is not only an outrage. It is the latest manifestation of a system that callously devalues the lives of Black people."

And yesterday:

"Every officer involved in George Floyd's murder must be arrested and held criminally accountable. Going forward, the DOJ must independently investigate every time a person dies in police custody. That includes officers who passively stand by and allow these killings to happen."

So the original complaint was that Sanders had not said *anything* about this.

What is the new complaint? Not good enough? Wrong words? Framed in a way some people don't like?

Then of course the complaint shifted to 'wrong words', 'all lives mattering' 'didn't even mention his name' etc. Despite the fact that the link to his page clearly shows that there a re a lot of posts from Sanders on the subject.

walked away from that type of follower, and specifically the ones who ended up at JPR, without explanation.

And now he's done it again in 2020: left them behind and gone to join the Democrats fighting the White Power Party without them. So, when that crowd over there finally have the riots they know someone should be taking over and harnessing for the great revolution, they once again sit abandoned and bewildered.

And it is sad to witness. But neither self awareness nor understanding of their world are exactly strong points over there, and their angry befuddlement and bitter attempts to make JPR-sense of real-world events should stay there.

It is their misfortune, of course, that they were able to come together over there when told they couldn't act out Hillary Derangement and loathing of Democrats on DU any more. Together they've only slid farther down the rabbit hole. But their problems need to stay there, not brought to DU.
Even Sanders isn't interested. Not at present anyway.
