"the fog of war" is really hurting things right now in so many ways

we have a pandemic, we have political and social pressure causing things to open up too soon (so we will have more deaths).

we have protests with as legitimate a cause as is possible - spread all over the country - but we also have bad actors stirring up shit -

we have a media that can't keep up, because accurate information on both of the above take time, and mistakes are made (or accuracy is politically hindered ...er, trump, for example and his mindless inflaming tweets).


Even here on DU - protests good, violence bad, looting understandable, looting stupid will harm the cause, info coming from twitter (is it accurate).

So much shit is being flung right now (and when is the last time the climate has been discussed) that it is becoming an impenetrable quagmire.

What is really needed - true, factual info on what is going on in these protests that are turning them from peaceful to destructive. Who are those that are stirring up shit? Are there any actually stirring it up? What are rumors, what is real.

As you can tell, as someone who dips in throughout the day on news sites - I've completely lost the plot.

But trump hasn't - and likely, Putin hasn't. Certainly Faux hasn't. We can't let ourselves be divided by false reporting, innuendo, propaganda.

What. A. Complete. Fucking. Mess.

to figure things out for years now, and it's just getting more out-of-whack. I think we'll be seeing a lot more of this kind of stuff. Maybe we can get a handle on it somehow. A counter-manual to how to disrupt and take-over a country.
