(15,076 posts)There is an enormous amount of work to do. Cleaning up the Police Forces in our country - coast to coast will be a huge undertaking, but it must be done. A big part of that is holding officers accountable for their actions - with real penalties for bad behavior. Treat them like the criminals they are instead of letting them off the hook.
But our systemic racism goes deep into all aspects of our lives. Let's start with this one.

(16,924 posts)you can find out how to send a "THANK YOU" to the Houston Chronicle.
Why?
Because they are acting/doing what a FREE PRESS should do - telling the truth without fear of feedback or condemnation. I'm guessing they're not worried about that from Louie Gohmert or Teddy Cruz because I'm not sure either of them have the attention span to get that far into the paper, and even if Louie did, someone would have to read it to him.

(7,534 posts)I grew up in Houston and that I am not a fan of that paper. They've watched silently or even stood in unison with the murderous cops that have killed countless innocent people in that city over the decades.
