His mother was a remarkable woman. In S. Africa, during apartheid, his black mother learned how to navigate the white city virtually invisibly (dress as a servant). She stayed single, got a job in an office, made friends, learned where she could live in the city instead of returning to the ghetto every night, and in her apartment building made friends with a European man (Swiss, I think). When she decided she wanted a baby, she chose him as a father. This was a crime. When Trevor was born, he was very obviously half-white -- he was born a crime.

This is a very self-aware, very intelligent young man. He sees deeply -- this monologue is an excellent observation of where American society is now.

8. I just wonder at what point the protests will stop. The protests are escalating every day

with more burning and looting every day. If they charge the other two officers will that stop them?
Will they go on until they get Trump re-elected? At some point they have to stop or be stopped. The
country just can't sit back and watch as cities are destroyed. If violence is used to stop them it will
escalate it further.

That way protesters are home and safe when the bad actors hit the streets.

Unfortunately, the protest appear to be happening organically and there is the rub. It is hard to control when the organic flash mob nature of social media is used to get protesters on the street. No one person or group is in charge of the protest.

Young people are being manipulated by social media to get even more angry. I just had a talk with my son about this as his friends in Austin are going out again tonight, even though the official protest was called off. His friends are peaceful, but they are being manipulated by the social media to be even angrier than they need to be.

I fear that bad actors have influenced all aspects of social media to incite more anger.
