Senator Kamala Harris as VP: Is it becoming more likely?

I have been a huge proponent of Joe Biden to pick Senator Elizabeth Warren for his VP.

After the current events, I'm wondering if Kamala Harris as VP now makes a lot of sense. I like both Senators a great deal, but, until the past few days, I thought uniting the progressives with the Democratic party was the key, and that gave Senator Warren the upper hand (plus she is cool as hell!).

Now, however, it may be that someone like Kamala Harris is what we need.

Putting all other issues aside, if Joe picks Kamala as VP and they win, it doesn't affect the balance of power in the Senate since California has a D governor. With Elizabeth, my understanding is that it could be a problem, given that there is an R governor in Massachusetts. If the (hypothetical) Joe/Kamala ticket wins, they can hopefully see what the Senate composition will be and, if favorable, give Elizabeth the AG spot.

That's a total flip from original thought of the top ticket as Joe/Elizabeth and Kamala as AG.

Thoughts?

Peace and love to all. Stay safe. Stay focused.

I think she has a great record as a Senator but not so much as a prosecutor.

Warren is the top choice out of VP choices for under 45, African-Americans, and Latino/Hispanic voters.

But looking at it pragmatically, picking Elizabeth now and winning the Presidency, but losing her Senate seat might be a gamble.

Picking Kamala as VP avoids the gamble to some degree, with probably some progressive votes lost.

Tough choice. Where is David Axelrod when you need him?!!

But is her Senate position covered if she does get chosen? If it is threatened I think others capable of the task are Katie Porter , and Stacy Abrams, both smart and very good at what they do, and very capable of doing a great job. Rep.Val Deming's also is another good choice. Senator Harris is very , very good at going after criminals, but they all are able to hold them all accountable. The American people will demand results , so this will hurt them of they are not fully held accountable for what they've done to us and this country. We either have justice in this country or don't, and right now we don't.

I’m more of a Susan Rice fan for V.P., but I don’t think Biden needs to tick any particular box when making his decision. However, I’d be sorely disappointed if he didn’t pick a woman because there are more than a few women who are abundantly qualified to be President, and I truly believe America would ultimately benefit from having a woman President. I witnessed the emotional and uniquely inspirational boost Obama’s election gave to black children. I think a female President would do the same for little girls all over the world.

Clinton/Gore had synergy. Obama/Biden had synergy. I assume and hope that this is a part of what Biden is testing with the many qualified women he is considering.

I wholly agreed with Obama when he said Hillary was the most qualified person for the Presidency. America screwed that opportunity and is paying dearly.

Sorry. I totally digressed. Coffee is kicking in.

What would Harris uniquely bring to the Biden ticket?

As a woman of color and an extremely well-respected AG from California, she could lead the federal response on the police violence issues, as well as school shootings. She is "law and order" in the best possible way. These are two things that must be addressed immediately. Plus, she's extremely high profile.

Susan Rice is superb, but she's not a politician. I looked at her Wikipedia page and came across this picture. Does anyone think with the folks at this table (circa 2009) that we would be in the unholy mess we are now?:

Biden can ride for two years and then step down so the VP can rule for the next two. Then run for prez in 2024 and go for another 8 years.. That would give us 10 years to fix dRumph's mess...
I can dream can't I ????
