no, not a new baby. This baby was born 15 years ago, a biological boy. She has chosen a new name, that of his much beloved great aunt who, unfortunately, was taken from us 20 years ago and a woman I mourned so much I thought the pain of sadness would never leave me. For all of the hideous pain that Trump can inflict, nothing can keep me from being so very happy at this moment in my life. Luckily, this darling grandchild of mine lives in Los Angeles, which is a great place to be for her.
This is great news. My family is rejoicing!

(12,904 posts)Can I just ask a couple of questions?
Did your new granddaughter know your beloved aunt?
Did you know beforehand that she would be choosing your beloved aunt's name as her new name?
Just curious.

(63,912 posts)name if she had been a biological daughter. So it was apt if not perfect. I think my SIL in heaven is rejoicing with the other angels...
I knew this was being considered, yes, but not that it was final.
Her dad is a musician and a terrific guy. It's such a win-win all over!
