Daughter's friend's grandmother
Neighbor's uncle
Friend's daughter's boyfriend's mother
I know 2 people who were sick with Covid-19 or symptoms (1 tested positive, 1 couldn't get tested) and 2 relatives who had to self-isolate because they were exposed to co-workers who tested positive.
I'm in a rural corner of Ohio.

(2,520 posts)My mom's assisted living has another 14 in the hospital.
Everyone was socially isolating, contact tracing didn't yield any leads. My friends just went to the store and had been wearing mask. I wanted to head out to the protest but was terrified to do so. My daughter went out, I hope she didn't pick up anything and bring it home. The wife and I are terrified. Being in the older generation really sucks.
Losing friends, losing familiar faces, is so hard.

(5,164 posts)Although not in the oldest age categories more vulnerable. I have several chronic health conditions which make me high risk such as type1 D and asthma. Being already on blood thinners and having z pac at home may have saved me. But I seem to be having a chronic response to it, although my doc say many are. One of my students who also had pneumonia and was in hospital for a day was also having a lot of back pain, but he said he is pretty much fully recovered now. He had told me at the end of the semester his grandmother had passed which was tragic.
He died last week from covid.
