First he gassed people in DC for a photo shoot then he threatened Governors.
But he's gonna order the military not to murder anyone exercising their 2nd Amendment rights so folks if you want to protest peaceful better grab an assault rifle or a grenade launcher.
This is so fucking crazy......... of all the shit I've seen in my almost 80 years of watching government treat African Americans like shit, I never thought I'd see the so called President of the United States demand the US Military deploy to murder them.
Someone please tell me what I can do. I'm an old white lady - almost 80. I'm alone in this world. I am willing to die to protect young people peacefully exercising their rights. How do I know if it starts so I can drive there and help provide a shield. This is not bullshit. I am so upset that I'm crying. Actual crying. I am not very good with the Twitter or Facebook but can learn if that means I can get notification of where to go to help.
I live in Ohio now near Cincinnati but Dayton, Columbus and Lexington and Indianapolis are all within a 2 hr. drive. I look at the local news which has been upsetting, but locally there has not been much fuss.
Seriously, please tell me where I need to go to get better information.

Just one thing: have you looked up the group Indivisible?

(83,763 posts)There are safer ways to protest than exposing yourself to crowds in the middle of a pandemic. One that I fear will be out of control in the next few months.
You can write and call your reps. You can try a small local chapter in your area. Support by donating to food banks.
All these will help.
Peace to you.

(6,679 posts)I'm active in local politics. It is hard going as this is a red area but we are slowly turning things purple. I'm challenging a lot of older people in my retirement village and at the senior center, everywhere I go. I try to be sure people get enough food and medicine etc.
But this, this whole thing is so upsetting. I am old enough to remember when people were just trying to walk across the bridge and getting their heads bashed in for it. I could not go and stand between an police then. I can now.
I will keep doing what I'm doing and look for ways to stand ...or take a knee ... if it is needed. It is just so heartbreaking all of this.
Thank you for the hug.

(36,055 posts)I checked their site, see no chapters near you, but I'm guessing you can see some affiliates in your state.
Hope you might check their home page. I hope that even some online investigating helps you feel better.

(2,495 posts)Hence why they haven't been showing up. Mainly due to their dumb anti-lockdown protest.

(61,695 posts)Can a governor order the national guard to keep the US military out of their state, or pin down the military so they cannot act on trump's orders?

(23,099 posts)I hope and pray it doesn't come to that because in states like TX, KS, Al, MS, FL, GA, TN,AR, WV there are lots of guns and asses.
