Well, this was the last straw for my Texas cousin.

Life-long Republican, her family is military. She just messaged me to say that she was disgusted by today's events and just sent money to Biden and the Lincoln Project.

I guarantee you she's not the only one. He's jumping the shark.

I believe all people should be able to worship -- or not -- whatever they believe. All people. The fact he commandeered a church and pitched out the priest and a seminarian is, frankly, disgusting. He threw actual people of God out of the church he lorded around in and in front of like some tin pot tyrannical Central American jefe circa 1952. He's a fucking monster and one of the most identifiable symptoms of an actual antichrist is EVERYTHING this thing has done and is now doing. There have always been things like him: dictators who prance around in "religious" sack cloth and tyrannize their people. But by far, he is the most egregious I have actually seen with my own eyes. I've read about Hitler and Pol Pot and others, but I'm actually seeing with my very own eyes a vile monster that must be destroyed. He is not human. It is not human. It must be destroyed.

At the 68th, and perhaps last, National Prayer Breakfast, the main remarks were made by the former president of the American Enterprise Institute (and Post columnist) Arthur C. Brooks, who spoke on the themes of his wonderful 2019 book “Love Your Enemies.” President Trump then prefaced his speech by saying: “Arthur, I don’t know if I agree with you. But I don’t know if Arthur’s going to like what I’m going to say.”

It was a strange moment in U.S. religious history. The command to love your enemies, of course, came from Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount. “Love your enemies, bless those that curse you, do good to them that hate you.” It might be expected for a president to express how difficult obeying such a mandate can be. Trump decided to dispute the command itself. And some in the crowd laughed.

That takes the cake. I can't even imagine what his thinking could have been to do that. "look how religious I am? Bible - see? It's mine?" The whole thing was totally ridiculous; bringing in the troops and tear gassing the protestors in order to stand in front of a church and hold up a Bible?
Un-be-lieve-able.
