I have a question...

Obviously, the decision for him to leave the White House proper and enter the bunker was made for a specific set of reasons by someone. My question is what threat did he, his staff, or the Secret Service perceive that was a direct threat to him personally? The White House is, I am certain, incredibly fortified, the Secret Service inside possess weapons akin to those of mass destruction, the roof is patrolled by snipers and undoubtedly possess heavy weapons up there as well to repel air attacks, the windows are bulletproof to all but probably a bazooka round, and even then They may hold up against that. All they would’ve had to have done is lock the doors and stood guard. Anyone who would have managed to jump the fence could be subdued or shot within ten seconds. Instead they hid him or perhaps, more likely, It may well have been his idea: he may have had a panic attack and insisted upon being taken down there. That’s what I think happened- I would submit to you that he is incredibly unstable and may well have just “flipped the fuck out“ and Said get me out of here now. It may have been easier for them to essentially send him to his “room” then to deal with him wandering around the residence screaming and throwing things or the west wing and wreaking havoc. What do others think?

I'm not among the protesters, but they're probably by and large locals. They know the rules -- don't touch the fence. Nobody's going to storm the White House and take it over. That's nonsense.

I don't know what brought on the flight to super duper safety.

They were on the other side of Pennsylvania Avenue in Lafayette Park. The only way they could have touched the fence was with a pole the length of a football field.

It was the military, acting on his orders as commander-in-chief, not the Secret Service, who cleared the park.

I'm also thinking he probably was having a complete meltdown and they probably brought him down there to make him feel like he had an extra level of security. I think he's probably pretty much about to snap at this point. We just need to give him a few more little nudges to send him over the edge. Hopefully it will happen in public so that there can be no doubt of his unfitness for office.

A more likely scenario. And I would like to see him just collapse during one of his public rants and never regain consciousness until after the inauguration upon which his legal issues come into play.
