How come I see and read about a peaceful demonstration that each and every time ends in violence? They were peaceful and had a purpose, BLACK LIVES MATTER. Then along comes outside agitators stirring shit. How come so many of the looters and those setting fires, breaking windows are white? Hmm. I wonder, not really I know their purpose.

My friend is a 40-ish white woman in Pittsburgh.



George Floyd wasn't given a pass, the cops were called on him. But George's bad luck was that the cops who came were all racists with anger issues, and they didn't even belong on the police force.

So yeah, we're talking about white privilege for sure. But we're also talking about extremely bad leadership and bad decisions being made on municipal police forces throughout the country. How does Minneapolis excuse the fact that this guy should never have been hired? Or that he should have been fired years ago?

They, including tRump and other right-wingers admit that only a small % of the protesters are violent, yet they all get gassed, beat up and arrested. So, 10% at most.

On the other hand, 4 cops hold a man down until he dies and another 5 or 6 stand by and watch. That adds up to 100% of the cops there. So, I'd say damn near 100% of the cops are racist criminals. OK, might only be 95%, but not on that day.

(I've shared this message too; it's excellent!)

While I have avoided using the term "white privilege" for other reasons, guidance from Black Women helped me see how problematic that term is for a reason I'd never considered: It's "nice" -- it's a less offensive term in an attempt to keep white people comfortable; it's a term that keeps white people elevated, something most, subconsciously, are more comfortable with.

I'd reword the first sentence thusly:

They said the rioting in Arizona had gone from Phoenix to Scottsdale. And one person said, when are the police going to start shooting.

I posted a reply of a twitter showing National Guard in Minneapolis going down the streets in riot gear with speaker horns saying go into your house now. A woman looking from her balcony was fired at with rubber bullets and she ran inside.

I said, they have started shooting.

Probably lost another FB friend.
