Given All The Interest Generated Around This Murder Of George Floyd By A Cop & A Double Standard Of.

treatment of People of Color vs Caucasians - isn't this an opportune time for the Dems in the House to put through legislation to right the wrongs and get some conformity across the country. Isn't this the time for the Dems to capitalize on this situation and put the Repugs in the Senate on the defensive?

It would seem to me that it would be disastrous for a Repug to vote against any legislation that would speak to correcting the wrongs that have been uncovered in this country by this incident.

The Nationwide protests shows that the American People want to correct the wrongs.

would bury any legislation in committee. But, wouldn't hurt for Pelosi to get something down on paper.

and the Repugs try and stonewall any legislation it will reflect badly on them in the eyes of the majority of the American People.

This is an election year and the Repugs will be hard pressed to vote against anything that could help quell the protests and calm the violence around the country. It will reflect badly on the Repugs and will drive home their racism and disdain for people of color and accentuate their fascist ways.

So I believe this is an opportune time for the Dems to push any legislation that could put the Repugs on the defensive regarding these issues. Even if such legislation gets tabled or voted down the Dems can make a campaign issue of that as well.

I hate to get political here - but our country is at stake here and we need to take back control from Trump and the Repugs. Again - I believe we have to capitalize on this situation and take advantage of the fact that the majority of the American People will be watching what both Parties do to handle this situation and will vote accordingly.

It takes government commitment and action to make sure racism -- and abuse of power (since it's not just racist police) -- is not acceptable.
