Given recent events, I am looking more closely at Val Demings as possible VP candidate

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Val_Demings

She certainly has the resume and would be hard for Trump to attack unless he paid someone to cook up a fake charge of some malfeasance to blame on her. I don't put it past him or his crew.

IDK if there is such a thing as a free and fair press in this country any more. We've just got to get vote out and get this bastard GONE. I think Val would be a strong counterpoint to the repukes "law and order" shit. But they also lie. So we'd best be prepared...and

But harris has a big lead. Amy K dropped from 25% tO 6% this week, Kamala up from 25 to 39. For the first time Biden now even with the bookies. Dem senate 50.1% for democratic control. Seems like some trump supporters are getting tired of winning. But it is a toss up. No one knows nothin about this election.

I don't doubt that she's good. I just wondered why her support is so high. Name recognition, perhaps?

Collective wisdom is far more accurate predicting the number of jellybeans in a jar than any individual. How that works is a mystery to me.

There is no reason I shouldn't believe it in Kamala's case. She will be a fabulous VP, plus she already has her own erstwhile campaign people around her to advise her. My only problem is that the pukes will run that bit of videotape from the Dem debates with her "that little girl was me" quote run over and over again...

but I'm pretty sure a few million Americans will identify with it and support her, and by extension, Biden.

and since Joe's VP is likely to be the next Dem Pres candidate-in '24 or '28-she has a better 'national' resume than Demings.

But Ms Demings might give a big boost in Florida, and if Dems take Florida, Trump's path to 270 gets really complicated.

and as Kamala actually ran for president, she has more national exposure. Ms Demings has more recently risen to the spotlight as a committe chair in the House and had some good moments in the Impeachment effort. I guess I'm saying more national "exposure" rather than actual job resume.

Not trying to downplay Ms Demings, I could fully support her if she is the chosen VP candidate. In some ways, her relative "newcomer" status to the national stage could be a benefit.

Both women come with solid LEO credentials.

but I take your point. However, AOC is far more visible these days than Gillibrand who is a Senator and ran for President. LOL

Her questioning of Barr was a thing of beauty!

She would make an excellent VP, or Attorney General.

Biden has always been well-liked by the police. He’s never been accused of being”soft on crime”. I still think Kamala would be the best campaigner.

and think she would be an amazing VP if that's who Biden chooses as a running mate. Her background and experience would be invaluable, not to mention her intelligence and demeanor.

either would be solid choices IMNSHO, though if Demings would help carry Florida, it would nearly guarantee a Biden win. CA is not in play.

I think a LOT more voters are looking at a VP as a solid, down to earth person whom they could see as a President should something happen to the President. Voters are looking for wisdom, character and predictability over other concerns.

Just my thoughts lately...
