My nephew, adopted from Korea,

and now serving overseas in the U.S. military, just posted this on Facebook. I could not be prouder!

Congrats to you both!

This is a beautiful and thoughtful bit of prose, certainly worthy of being read far and wide.

My nephew flirted with the Republican party in his early military career, under the influence of other young idiots. But since marriage and fatherhood, he's gone back to his childhood roots.

I like to think that I had a bit of influence in that change to sensibility, but I give all the credit to my sister and her husband. They didn't push him to change, they simply continued to set the good example of caring for all the world. Fatherhood can cause a change of heart in those who were well raised.

And thanks for your good words!
