We cannot tolerate an American secret police.

I will be introducing legislation to require uniformed federal officers performing any domestic security duties to clearly identify what military branch or agency they represent.

They can clearly be identified as Blackwater / Xe / Academi mercenaries brought in to provide plausible deniability in addition to enforcement muscle.

7. The secret police weren't those in public, with weapons but no insignia.

They were the "police" behind the scenes, rooting out those with the wrong views and either getting them arrested or destroyed for real or imagined working against the government.

Often the visible police would do their bidding, but sometimes you'd just realize they'd come and gone when somebody would vanish in the middle of the night or go to lunch and not come back.
