MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s office has released their full and final autopsy report on the death of George Floyd, noting that he had tested positive for COVID-19, but it was not a contributing factor in his death. more at link I really do hope those cops suffer a horrible bout of Covid-19. 1. If they do catch it, they should be denied medical treatment.
Just like they denied it to Mr. Floyd.

9. No, that's not the way it works. Those rogue officers are barbarians.
We are not. No human being should be denied medical treatment.

Maybe the virus will do it for us.

16. I have been a long standing opponent of the death penalty.
And as we know, people of color are disproportionately on death row. No civilized society should condone the death penalty. I thought this was a progressive forum but now we have people at DU advocating for the death penalty?

24. Agreed
I am against it in ALL cases. Glad though that the murder charge was upgraded. If convicted, they will spend a good amount of time in jail.

31. Personally I wish that the prosecutors had enough to make a 1st degree charge stick.
And I would like to see the cop get life without parole. But we know from history that sometimes it's better in the long run to bring a lesser charge with a better chance of conviction. A 2nd degree conviction should land him with major time in jail.

4. Both autopsies confirmed it. A metric F-ton of people have CV19.
Mr. Floyd was one of them.

8. Well if the independent autopsy confirmed it I believe it.
I don't just automatically believe results from the examiners who work so closely with the police.

6. Serious (not snarky) question: What is the relevance of his kids' health and...
the fact that he had a girlfriend to whether or not he had COVID?

18. Yes, of course. But the fact that his kids did not test positive tells absolutely nothing...
about whether he had it when he was killed. For lots of obvious reasons.

so hopefully they took several deep breathes while depriving George Floyd of his. I hope he breathed in their faces real good while he still could.

33. We actually don't know that.
It has been known for a while that some people are test positive after converting to negative, but it is not yet determined whether the return to being positive also means they are infectious again (or will display symptoms again, etc.)

34. We don't know that yet.
It has not been determined whehter people who test positive again after the initial infection has vanished are infectious. That's one of several mysteries about this disease. Most people who recover from viral infections don't test positive again. Some with COVID 19 do. Most people who have had a viral infection are immune to it (particularly if they develop antibodies). We don't know yet if that is true for COVID 19.
