(12,618 posts)And even managed to crack 50% right around the time of the 2004 election, which is why he won. His ratings didn't really start to crater until his second term. And by the end of his second term, they were pretty much in the toilet.

(17,537 posts)seems to have been stable for some time, unaffected by any of Trumps actions or lack of actions. Those are the hard core from which Trump draws all of his power, those are the ones Trump has been pandering to.
The real question is how many people who really don't approve of Trump's behavior will vote against Democrats anyway. Approval rate and votes do not necessarily equate.
As the president, Trump has a lot of power to be able to sell himself, he can not be counted out.
