The US Treasury Department estimates that as much as $200 million in counterfeit currency ...

is circulating in the United States ... perhaps one out of every 4,000 bills.

Now, ask yourself how many pieces of paper currency have passed through your hands, and then try to calculate the likelihood that you have passed a counterfeit note.

Finally, ask yourself if you deserve to be put to death.

I do know the original call was for "suspected" use of counterfeit money.

Helluva reason to kill somebody.

because I have not used any paper currency in 4 years.
It is either credit cards or personal check to pay some bills.

5. I am often paid in cash for tutoring. I wouldn't know if a bill was fake, unless it was

super obvious, and I am sure the people who pay me wouldn't know either.

7. I got $200 in counterfeit bills about a year or so ago

I went to a Citibank branch ATM and withdrew 10 $20 bills. When I tried to buy breakfast, the cashier said the bill I gave her was fake. I showed her the other bills and they were fakes, too.

I paid my bill with a credit card and went back to the branch and spoke to an officer. He was very cagey but exchanged the fake bills for real ones.

A friend of mine who is an FBI agent said that maybe the bank was involved with a Treasury Department experiment to see how the bills traveled through the economy. Who knows.

$200 million sounds way too low. I bet it's much higher.

They thought I was getting change, didn't even notice that they were fake.
