Trump's expanded baby gate blocks Bishop (who criticized him) from accessing her church

Raw Story @RawStory 2h
Bishop who criticized Trump gets blocked from accessing her church — thanks to new White House border wall

Bishop Mariann Budde, who earlier this week criticized President Donald Trump for using the St. John’s Church as a photo-op location without asking permission, was unable to access her church this week to hold a planned vigil.

Mother Jones reports that Budde had wanted to use the church to hold a vigil in solidarity with protesters on Wednesday, but was prevented from doing so thanks to the new wall being constructed around the perimeter of the White House complex that includes St. John’s Church.

The new White House perimeter fence has grown significantly over the last day, which sources tell local news reporter Melanie Alnwick of Fox 5 DC is expected to engulf all 82 acres of President’s Park, which has been described by the National Parks Service as “the Nation’s front yard.”

Armed soldiers preventing clergy from accessing the church would make a great photo.

They should do that and make video of it. That would make Exhibit A in a lawsuit because of their freedom of religion being violated. Right wing Republican groups sue over much less than that for their churches and claim their rights are being violated. This time rights really are being violated. Sue the hell out of Trump and whoever else is responsible for this.

Trump was NOT given permission to use it for a photo op. From what I've heard when they cleared the area for the blasphemous traitor the clergy, who were on the grounds giving out water and medic help, were chased off by the tear gas too.

TAKE here's more info on the church if you're curious:

of course, if he had lightening bolts would have come out of the blue. I believe the sidewalk outside the church, where Trump had his photo-op, is public property. He did use the church for a backdrop, but I don't think that's against the law. I'm not sticking up for the huge, orange, piece of crap, just throwing a "for instance" in there.

how much in front the church owns.

In photos and using Google's satellite view the sign Trump stood in front of is set back a bit from the city's sidewalk both from the Side and front. With the hedges the way they are there and the 'patio' done differently I'd say he stood on the church's consecrated property not the city's public property. This would also explain one of the reasons why the bishop of that diocese is so ticked.

at climbing scale the wall. That will prove once and for all that Trump's stupid overly expensive border wall is a dumb idea.

In the meantime, they should sue the hell out of Trump and the White House and any and all parts of government responsible for Trump's stupid wall/fence, for violating their first amendment rights.

All this is so that Trump doesn’t have to hear or see protesters and he can convince himself that he is beloved and a genius. I remember the photo of him at the space launch last week when he turned and gave the evil eye to the protesters behind him chanting “I can’t breathe.” You could see that he was furious, but he couldn't do anything about it. So now he has taken US property to which citizens have access and turned it into private property solely for himself.

No reason to state this other than gut instinct. (My gut is much smaller than its but a bit too large.)

Like every other move Barr/Trump/Putin has made on our freedoms, this one is just another fluid line in the pavement.

Expect wider expanses of DC to be cordoned off.

Expect control points on access to the DC area to be established.

Expect militarized forces from (somewhere) to be deployed. Unmarked cars and helicopters. Motorcades proceeded with armed military weaponry.

Expect national identity tags with special markings for: race, ethnicity, health, political affiliation, campaign contributions, wealth, potential sexual attraction to the bunker-boy, etc.

Expect not to be able to cross state boundaries without grift or fly in an airplane.

Expect to only be able to visit theme parks during your allotted "vacation week" that feature rambo-like figures with dump's features superimposed.

Expect to die early when your duty to the homeland is finished. After all, most old people would gladly give their lives to the resurgence of the Nazis.
